I am an Editor and Writer, editing and writing!
After extensive efforts to peel down a multiplicity of kishronos to one speciality, I have settled. At least for the time being.
After dabbling in editing for sometime, I have BH reached a blessed plateau – editing in Torah literature.
My thanks are expressed – or will be expressed soon in Temech soon to be released newsletter. It was nice to be interviewed. Nice. That word my teachers forbade for its overuse and lack of creative application. I use it in a sense of joy, relief and gratitude all mixed into one!
Here is a poem I wrote to Gevirah Milworm, CEO of Temech in response to her pre-Pesach discussion on how less is more. How throwing out the old stuff just makes room to grow and develop and move forward.
Less Is More
Less is More, dispose and grow,
There is something I now know:
Not that I am one to boast
But Hashem gave me talents the most!
I can read and research, I can content write
I know web design and some copywrite.
Dry office work though not my forte
brings in the bread each day.
Talking of bread, I know I can bake
but ‘they’ discouraged saying “No money you’ll make.”
However, my place I have found – a station –
In editing Torah literature, even translation!
A friend sent me an offer, an interesting job
I did not apply – oh why? oh how?
Because I let go of that aim for now!
I’d rather advance in editing at this hour
And add to this skill, knowledge and power!
