OKAPro is Rebranding
OKAPro Design is Rebranding as OKAPro Web Services – Copy, Content and SEO. And for Yoast SEO, OKAPro Web Services Copy Content and SEO!
The reason for that, is that a friend pointed out: I am not actually focusing on web design for the time being.
And the reason? I learnt, that when you begin a business, you should provide services in the areas you are strong in. As your business grows, naturally, you can develop it into new areas.
So, for me, writing content and copy are my strong areas. SEO is what I have recently been very involved in. And web design and building of websites are going to have to wait quietly on the side lines for a little bit.
Current Events in the OKAPro Background
My projects recently have included an interesting journey into the world of business. I am about halfway through a course on how to begin a small business.
Currently, in the course we are focusing on the financial aspects of running a business. There is a lot of new information for me.
This has been an eye-opening experience. I have learned many things. The first thing that really stuck, was the imperative that advertising must give the audience value. This means, that for my advertising to work, I have to include tips or content that will make my audience feel that they were given something. If I make my audience feel good, it is a valuable product of my efforts. Pasting an ad into a local weekly will not make my business fly off the ground.
Okay! At the very least, that knowledge is saving me money. Practically speaking, I have to do something about it. I like the idea of networking via the telephone and preempting my request for business or contacts with useful or helpful information. Beginning from an inspiring phrase to giving an actual tip in writing.
Networking? Yes, We Should!
I think that that networking through making person to person telephone calls will be more effective than emailing people. I am sure you would agree!
As an aside, I took an evening job, helping to raise money for a worthy cause. Yes, I want to help the worthy cause. However, I also want to learn how not to feel bad about getting clients to pay for services. I met a number of younger people through my studies. They did good work for clients but then felt it was hard to ask for the full payment for their work. It was interesting that I had the same experience. Although I did work hard on a certain project, I was tempted to cut the price here and there. Did it come from emotional insecurity about the quality of the product I gave? From the self-defeating fear of success? Who knows?
Through my evening job I discovered a couple of things:
- I enjoy talking to people.
- I believe in a gentle, warm approach to fundraising, as opposed to being ‘aggressive’.
- Success tastes, oh, so sweet.
- It is important to compliment colleagues and receive compliments graciously.
OKAPro When It is at Home and Inspiration for Perseverance
The OKAPro site is fairly quiet.
Biding its time, waiting in the sidelines, for its special day to come.
I could write enthralling content for my own site. It would be just, to give my own site the same amount of time and effort that I do for my clients’ sites in terms of content. You know how it is…clients come first!
